Polystyrene and foam packaging disposal
PolystyreneGlenfield Waste Services accepts polystyrene at Glenfield, loose or bagged, weighed over the weighbridge like any other load. There is no minimum quantity — a single bag is a load we will take.
For trades and businesses clearing packaging waste, and for anyone left with foam after a delivery.
What we take
Accepted- Expanded polystyrene packaging and moulded inserts
- Foam off-cuts and broken sheet
- Loose beads, if they are bagged
Polystyrene is light and bulky, so a big trailer load can weigh very little. It is priced by weight with a minimum charge, which means a small load and a large one can cost the same — worth knowing before you make two trips instead of one.
What it costs
Weighbridge- Rate
- $2,500 / tonne
- Minimum
- $2,500 min
Weighed over the weighbridge and charged by the tonne, against a minimum for small loads.
Rates include GST.
Bringing it in
On the dayBag loose beads before you leave — they travel on the slightest breeze and a split bag becomes a clean-up at both ends. Sheet and moulded pieces can come loose in the trailer; keep them under a net or a tarp.
Mon–Fri 6:30am – 4:00pm · Closed weekends & public holidays. The last load of the day must be tipped and off the weighbridge by 4:00pm. Arrive with enough time to weigh in, tip and weigh out before then — the gate cannot take a load that would still be on the bridge at close.
Within opening hours — Mon–Fri, closed public holidays.
What we can never take
RefusedThese materials are never accepted, in any quantity. Some other streams are accepted only project by project rather than as walk-in loads, which is a different answer — the fee schedule sets out the terms for those.
